Almost perfect. Sorry, I may sound like an idiot, I understand the choice, but I am so over the abrupt cut-to-black non-ending in indie films. It’s just lazy. I was over-the-moon digging the rest of this film. Literally everything in this movie was flawless until that final second. I can think of at least two better ways this film could’ve ended without it coming off like pandering, pat closure. “Red Rocket” could’ve had a satisfying conclusion while maintaining its nuance, ambiguity, & “let’s-leave-the-audience-wondering-what-will-happen” resonance. The Sopranos-finale-abortion-of-narrative is not an idea! Still, I will give this film credit for being otherwise phenomenal until that last second.

Let It Ride 1989
Very fun script with a classic over-the-top Richard Dreyfuss performance. The charm of this screwball gambling comedy makes up for some clunky editing & an occasionally uneven tone.

A Real Pain 2024
Kieran Culkin earned that Oscar like a motherfucker! His performance is above & beyond brilliant. Eisenberg wrote a great script & knew how to craft the perfect character for himself to play - delivering two exceptional acting moments of his own. I’m a little late to the party but this is definitely one of the best films of 2024.

The Worst Person in the World 2021
A new favorite of mine! LOVED this film! One of the best of this decade so far! Contains some of the most moving moments, sequences, & lines of dialogue ever executed! Start-to-finish brilliance on every level!
