  Had seen a lot of comments on the “messier” second half. That’s what stories are supposed to do. Ratchet their weirdness, grossness, and yes, sometimes their bluntness, as they go. I’d even go so far as to take the counter-position that the first half is beautiful, subtle, but in some ways had me worrying early over it all being just a little academic. The whole is the thing. Each half succeeds on the back of the other. Great movie.
