    They got it right the first time.

    The theatrical version, non-HD, non-remastered, was best. 

    The pacing is off in the longer ones, and they lack the tension of the theatrical version. 

    Take the scene with the dead king. In the theatrical version it’s left unclear whether he will fight for Aragorn and co. And so, when the Corsair ships arrive at Gondor, we are waiting, along with the Orcs, to see who disembarks. Is it the end of Gondor, or…

    Irritating. Not as liberating as it pretends to be. Casting the two most beautiful people of their age group, and then reigning make up and soft lighting upon them is hardly representative of whatever this was supposed to be. 
    Ali: Fear Eats Soul is miles ahead of this.

    Screenplay was like boys in the band or carnage, a play made into a movie. The characters keep wanting to leave the room and then staying for no good reason.

    Strong acting keeps this from collapsing under it’s own pretentiousness.
