  M. Night’s movies are never as deep as he wants them to be. But they’re usually still quite enjoyable. I appreciate that he genuinely tries to make good cinema and mostly succeeds. He’s not just shitting out studio units. He’s imperfect as all hell but he’s one of the good guys. 

  Trap fits perfectly into his filmography. 7/10.

  The hotel is both Hell and “the mind.” The mind is hell. Living one’s life in one’s own head is hell. Not just for the pretentious artsy reasons, but also for the fact that you don’t allow anyone else’s perspective inside. It’s a life of solitude, misery, and self-absorption.

  Also working in Hollywood is its own kind of hell. And Hollywood pretends to love writers but actually could give a shit less about them. For reasons equally valid and invalid. 

  Movie is a masterpiece.

Following
