Soultangler isn't good, but it feels dishonest to put this type of guerilla z-grade film on the same rating system as other films.
It's 75 minutes of exposition and a henchman going around and bonking people on the head with a hammer, followed by 15 minutes of absolutely fantastic low budget gross out gore. Is that 15 minutes worth the preceding 75 minutes? I think so.
8i think the way they play it like everything happening is totally normal and romantic makes it even creepier than most 80s sex(less) comedies.
Watching this movie and waiting for someone to say the goofy line from the trailer made me feel like Rob Cordry watching Crispin Glover almost lose his arm in Hot Tub Time Machine. Then they don’t even say it!
Frankie Muniz steals the movie. His entrance is great and hearing Wendell Pierce telling him to shut up is comedy gold.
Jerry Seinfeld punches a lot more people than the “Ya like jazz?” memes led me to believe.
