  That was fun. Robert Pattinson for Best Actor. Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo did amazing as well. Super crazy movie but there was just a LOT going on…potentially a little too much. They went for it, and I acknowledge that and its success, but there was just a little too much going on and a lot of the stories/metaphors had potential but some felt a little half baked.   Meh. They got Wolf Blitzer though!!

  John Malkovich was indeed the highlight, he was having a blast. Unfortunately, the film just is toothless. It sets up so many interesting ideas, but never really follows through. A few good jumps in it throughout.

  My biggest problem is the airport scene as Green River, Utah doesn’t have anywhere near that much vegetation.

  Really enjoyed the moments of tension during the found footage segments…outside of that, I didn’t really get invested into the characters at all. Had a good dreadful atmosphere and slow burn horror, but also enough jumps to keep it lively. Wish I had been able to give it more attention as I think I would’ve enjoyed it more.

  Horror in the High Desert 3: Firewatch 2024

  To me this newest film didn’t feel quite as scary as the first two entries but had a lot more tension than the second one. I enjoyed Oscar’s character and story. It’s is also fun I like that random side characters in the first two come back to play a role again. Dutch is continuing to kill it and I really really hope we get the next installment very very soon! I think this franchise could become a cult classic someday…
