Usually I’d be all up for a zany space heist starring Michelle Yeoh. Unfortunately, this movie ain’t that and it’s so bland and just absolutely not Star Trek. Unlike the idea of Section 31, but in a spotlight like this? It’s just following their version of the CIA and that ain’t what I want in Star Trek.
The People’s Joker is incredible. This exceeded my expectations from when I had first heard about it. This project is a truly fascinating piece of art from being a parody of modern cinema and the superhero genre, to being a love letter to these characters, and most importantly, as an outstanding piece of queer cinema, especially trans cinema. This is close to X2 as being my favorite X-Men film. Bryan Singer is back and for great reason to make yet another amazing X-Men film as he truly understands each character and crafts great moments of character work and action as shown in the really cool opening sequence of the movie of this film.
