Oh James Spader, you’re so ominous. This film exhibited a few notable characteristics of “indies” that I enjoyed. Like the lack of a clear motive for the protagonists, it was more an exploration into the psyche and relationships’ of the characters. Also the fact that the film was carried by the dialogue, which I thought was great so it carried the film well. Omg this movie was freakin awesome!!! I mean it pretty much checks all the boxes that I could ask for from a film: betrayal, friendship, redemption, exaggerated dramatic moments, wild animals tearing up some imperial British soldiers, a side love story, really awesome dance/ musical numbers, awesome action sequences, well used slow motion, extremely conflicted and complex characters.
