Christopher Nolan's first film and it certainly has his signature style. Told from a non-linear perspective that keeps you guessing throughout the story. Considering this was made on a budget of only $6000, essentially a no-budget film, I thought this was very well made, although there are a lot of drawbacks that Nolan's later films don't have due to the higher budgets.

It's an Uwe Boll film. He can box his critics that he's God's gift to filmmaking until he's blue in the face, but as far as Alone In The Dark goes, its about what everyone would expect from him. Horrible acting, poor directing, terrible editing & score, and pretty much incompetent in every other respect. Might as well call this "Avoid At All Costs".
I feel the trailer gave away the whole plot of the movie when I first saw it, but still decided to check it out, as I liked the concept and having seen Sophie Thatcher before in Heretic, it seemed like there was a lot to enjoy. I feel the film is guilty of telling more than showing, but the script was full of dark and comedic wit and the performances of Thatcher, Quaid and everyone else made me see more in the positives than the negatives. Not revolutionary or anything, but its a good pass of time and an enjoyable sci-fi comedy thriller.
