You can never have too many Robert Pattinson's. He has so much acting range its actually insane. Mark Ruffalo is also incredible playing a dictator villain you love to hate.

This one took a while to get its feet off the ground, but once they got to the creepers and returning its hostage, things started taking off.

Illumination's first and only live action film, and also quite possibly their worst one. This is the film you would get if Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Whiplash and any Christmas film set at Santa's workshop had a love child altogether, but you set it at Easter instead. It's an Uwe Boll film. He can box his critics that he's God's gift to filmmaking until he's blue in the face, but as far as Alone In The Dark goes, its about what everyone would expect from him. Horrible acting, poor directing, terrible editing & score, and pretty much incompetent in every other respect. Might as well call this "Avoid At All Costs".

I feel the trailer gave away the whole plot of the movie when I first saw it, but still decided to check it out, as I liked the concept and having seen Sophie Thatcher before in Heretic, it seemed like there was a lot to enjoy. I feel the film is guilty of telling more than showing, but the script was full of dark and comedic wit and the performances of Thatcher, Quaid and everyone else made me see more in the positives than the negatives. Not revolutionary or anything, but its a good pass of time and an enjoyable sci-fi comedy thriller.
