Altman can do kaleidoscopic ensemble pieces in his sleep. But when he decides to do a single protagonist genre piece, it proves to be just as much of a revelation. One of the best character intros to ever be put on celluloid involves Marlowe and his quest for cat food that will be deemed acceptable by his stubborn pet. The different iterations of the titular theme song beautifully stitches together this dream of a noire film.

Trafic 1971
This was my introduction to Tati and I have to say it was a bit underwhelming. This was a bit meandering at times and I found myself checking out a few times. I did like the touches of visual jokes during several sequences including the windshield wipers of the cars stuck in traffic. Also all the contraptions in the car was great fun. Still looking forward to checking out more of Tati's other Hulot adventures.
