There were a few moments in here that were really transcendent — overall a very good movie.
My only (extraordinarily nit-picky) critique is that creators try to split the difference on the animals acting like animals, and them having more anthropomorphic qualities, and they swing back and forth on that based on what’s better for the scene. Not a big deal.
Probably could have had 4 more hours of this movie.

For a second I thought this was going to be one of my new favorite horror movies, but I lost interest pretty quickly when it committed to the pseudo rage virus narrative. Really wished it had stuck with the paranoid “I can’t tell if this is real or the drugs” narrative that it started with — feels like the ultra-claustrophobic camera work would have really sung in that instance. Awful, evil movie. As a satire, it’s surface level and thuddingly obvious (not to mention that almost none of the humor lands). As a social problems commentary, the content and tone of the movie is handled so shockingly poorly that it ends up reading as pretty damn exploitative.
