Excellent creature feature, and loved the dynamics in the family. Especially loved the first third that highlighted the absurd comedy of the situation at hand. Found this to be a really exhilarating and engaging watch, but did they have to kill the kid?

There were a few moments in here that were really transcendent — overall a very good movie.
My only (extraordinarily nit-picky) critique is that creators try to split the difference on the animals acting like animals, and them having more anthropomorphic qualities, and they swing back and forth on that based on what’s better for the scene. Not a big deal.
Probably could have had 4 more hours of this movie.

Nickel Boys 2024
Maintains a certain level of magic despite the astonishingly bleak circumstances of the film. Was really astonished at how well this film is put together — between the lyrical editing and the masterful camerawork, this movie really flows beautifully. Final shot absolutely broke me. One of my favorites of the year.
