The Menu 2022
Mildly entertaining movie with a very surface level dive into class warfare. For me the themes did not land at all. Ratatouille did a way better job with the critic/artist theme. Parasites critique of capitalism was much better executed with a far deeper message with more subtlety. This feels like a movie that is trying to be smart but offers a nothing burger in the end (irony). Anya Taylor joy is great as always though.

Robert Pattinson Carry’s this movie with his acting chops. Enjoyed the trump parody but it was a little on the nose for me. Wasn’t the biggest fan of Mark Ruffalos job as space trump. Another good critique of capitalism by Bong Joon-Ho, but the visual storytelling was pretty good. Maybe I came into this film with too high of expectations since parasite is one of my favorite films. A Real Pain 2024
Fantastic dialogue and even better acting. The ending falls a little flat, I left wanting more. I think it was supposed to be that way but I would’ve liked a little more finality. Debated on giving this 3 but this movie has stuck with me. Making it jump from a really good movie to a great one in my mind.
