We watch a film, the director made as a film that covers the story on how she herself made her first film, reenacting that film, and also how it was about her life. So the real film and the film within the film are equally about the same person and inherently about the same series of events. Then the actual film breaks some kind of a fourth wall and intersects both films, in turn making a brand new film about a seperate but uniquely similar meaning of what the rest of the film is sorta, kinda, in a way, about.
