Felt inspired to go back and watch this after finishing adolescence.

Up there with the best films to come out of the UK, and as poignant today in regards to race and the rise of fascism as it was in ‘06 and in the 80’s as it was set.

Usually shows/films spoken about as much as this has been fail to live up to the hype, but that wasn’t the case here.

Performances throughout were phenomenal, Stephen Graham & Ashley Walters were as good as they’ve been in literally anything I’ve seen them in before, but Christine Tremarco and especially Owen Cooper just blew me away, having not seen anything Christine has been in before and this, somehow, being Owen’s first ever acting job with no training.

The one-shot technique of every episode was also done really well.

Proper heavy, heartbreaking stuff, but necessary and relevant viewing driven home by the efforts of the cast

The first half of this was genuinely incredible, however it did lack something in the second half to maintain the level already set.

The whole ‘strive for the American dream’ angle was done really well and every performance was really really solid. The overall score and some of the shots/cinematography were genuinely astounding at times but, as much as I don’t really have any negative comments about the film (bar the use of AI) it just, for whatever reason, didn’t stand…
