Tobias Vincent Maguire’s performance demands for the Academy to create a new category, Best Actor in a Meme. Maguire chews scenery like Pooh Bear devours honey.

Babylon is a paradox. A maximalist vision executed with exacting precision. Early on we are introduced to the excesses of 1920's Hollywood, a party that would make both Gatsby and the Wolf of Wall Street himself, jealous. In this night of debauchery is where Nellie (Margo Robbie) and Manny (Diego Calva) simultaneously discover each…

I think like many people I have certain friendships in my life that have since faded, that I silently grieve. It is difficult to move past the pain of no longer seeing them and sharing our lives together. Time is supposedly a healer but just as I think I am healed, I discover evidence of the emotional scars left behind. Past Lives is a film that I think will fundamentally change the way I view these friendships. Celine Song showed…

Michael Gracey is unmatched in his ability to craft modern musical films. He understands how to capture audience attention with distinct visuals paired with a powerful emotional wallop. The biggest drawback for me is that I wasn’t aware of Robbie Williams until this movie. As I watched the movie, I discovered I didn’t care for his music either. Regardless, the charm of the writing and the wonderful vfx work of WETA kept me entertained throughout.

My Review is an answer to David Ehrlich’s questions regarding Charlie Kaufman’s story involvement in his review:

I spoke to a very high up exec at Dreamworks about Kaufman’s involvement on this project recently. Kaufman wrote this script many years ago. The person I spoke to is the one who brought the script back to life from development hell and used Netflix money to get the funding as they were more willing to take a chance on it. It has…

Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult

    ★★

Dancing for the Devil begins as an expose on a Pastor turned cult like leader and unravels into what feels like an exploitative reality show.

By episode 3, the series feels like it is indulging in the unvarnished trauma of the victims. There is no reason why we should be watching the conflict between two sisters and their unresolved hurt, especially when one sister has recently left an abusive relationship that lasted over 23 years. By the end, I don't…
