This film is credited with reviving the found-footage technique later used in the creation of movies like Paranormal activity and Cloverfield. Lucky for me, my motion sickness was also revived and I almost passed out while watching this. Besides that, I really enjoyed the dialogue and creativity of the plot. The student's emotional level progresses from hope to paralyzing fear as they creep closer to the paranormal. Even towards the end, taken over by hunger and fear--they quite literally come…

The Great Dictator, a 1940 political satire, is absolutely one of Chaplin's best works. Not to mention, this is his first full-length true sound film (unless you consider the gibberish from Modern times as the first).

From beginning to end, this film was brilliant in depicting Hynkel (Hitler), Benzino Napaloni (Mussolini), and Hynkel's henchman leading the axis powers nation of Tomainia. Chaplin as Hynkel poked fun at the Nazi salute, speaking German, German food and mannerisms, and his interactions with…

To say this movie is disturbing is an understatement. The audience is driven to sympathize with Arthur. Whether compassion or not, we are urged to feel for him in some way. Where movies like this become dangerous is how the Joker, feeling rejected and alone in attempts to reach out for the “good of humanity,” resorts to violence. Violence becomes the means to building the solidarity and sense of community Arthur never had. Obviously a very close to home mirroring…

Exceptional acting from Bale in this psychological thriller-unique from his usual characters. We are presented with an individual's rebellion toward's the yuppie culture. Chained by his obsession for approval, he copes with the inability to conform to the Wall Street nobles. This movie has many quotable moments; got me laughing at several points. I encourage all to find the directors quick interview discussing her perspective and intention made after the movies release—quite different than you might expect.

Moral of the story: If your friend turns on "Texas Chainsaw" and starts doing crunches in his room...maybe he needs a gym partner
