Been a few days since my watch of this. I find myself thinking about Woodcock and Alma every once in a while. Imagining what they were doing off the screen in the scenes that PTA didn’t capture.
The film is sad and funny and sweet. Alma moves the story along in Woodcocks world. In the end, it’s just another toxic relationship ;)
I’ll start by saying I haven’t seen any of the originals. Okay?
I didn’t expect such a disgusting horror flick when I went into this. My mouth was agape too many times as I watched the dark twisted world unfold.
Story was fine but I was not really attached to any character, maybe just Willems at the end. Highlight for me was the initial journey to the counts castle and the first few minutes in the castle.

Can’t believe this movie got such low reviews. A much more interesting and artistic movie about the decline of the us than civil war. Some parts fell like the Joker. I couldn’t tell whether it was pro- or anti-capitalist which I loved. Love the statues crumbling and Jon Vs character was funny. It was so much better than the review make it seem. The thespian vibe was also so fun. Love having a high budget movie with big stars and a famous director take risks.
I want to give it 5 starts but I think I’ll need to watch it again and read about it in order to justify that. Some very epic shots. Loved the fire and all of the time spent at the cabin. Felt strangely modern. I was a bit confused tbh. (What’s new. that seems to be a common theme in my reviews.)
