City Lights 1931
After seeing this, it's clear to me that cinema doesn't necessarily need great dialogue to generate deep emotions and a connection with the audience. It was my first time seeing Chaplin, and I never imagined I'd laugh and enjoy myself so much, even cry, at an ending like this. Seeing this in the theater in the 1930s must have been one of the greatest experiences in history.
