  engaging; mind-bending; thrilling. an extremely underrated film, which i unironically believe went under the radar because of the unimpressive title. who named this? that aside, 'Dark Figure of Crime' is a gripping movie that handles the story of these victims in a sensitive, respectful way. unnerving and disturbing in spite of not being an utter gore fest, the violence remains effective.

  my first proper review in a while, so you can imagine how much i enjoyed it.

  read the summary and the reviews and knew i wouldn't enjoy it, yet i watched it anyway for the experience. the experience wasn't worth it, if you can call it an experience at all. just as others have stated, this falls short in the psychogical aspect of the film (as well as several other things) and the writing is flat and lazy. it has its strong points, the actors were good—especially fumi nikaido—but is, in the end, a pretty weak…
