Bong always dials up the silliness in his english language films but this is dialed all the way up to 11. If you don't vibe with the humour I can imagine hating this, but I quite loved it. It's a fun blend of dark humour, goofy caricatures and sci-fi genre trappings, Pattinson elevates the character writing with one of his strongest performances, and I quite liked Ruffalo and Collette too. Don't know about anyone else but I thought this was easily superior to Snowpiercer and Okja.

One of the more well paced 3+ hour movies that I've seen. I appreciated the use of an intermission, and I never once felt bored watching this. I especially loved Brody's performance and what Corbet was able to achieve in terms of spectacle and grandiosity with such a small budget. However the second half is somewhat of a letdown, it needlessly muddles what had been a pretty incredible movie up to that point. The ending leaves a lot to be desired thematically.

Can certainly see why some would find this overly bleak, but this worked for me. EO DP Michał Dymek is once again doing some incredible work here, and I love everything about the style of this movie. It's inherently depressing yes but it still has genuine sympathy for its characters and everyone is written believably, which is all I really need to not turn my nose at something like this. It ends on a positive enough note for me to not find its heaviness unjustified.

I feel like watching Mary and Max capped how much I could get out from this as it covers a lot of the same ground in the same way. Adam Elliott's style is strong enough for me to still enjoy it a lot but I do think this could've been even better with a more inspired plot, as Elliott's clearly already an extremely talented animator.

MCU's 2021 needed to end with a full W. I'll admit that I really didn't think a movie this ambitious and bonkers could work without prior setup but it pulls a multiverse plot out of its ass and somehow gets the job done.

The movie starts off pretty frantic, I appreciate how they tackled Peter's identity crisis but it's clear the movie wants to move on to the cool stuff and some of it rushes by a little too quickly.…

After two months of everyone seeing this film and calling it a masterpiece, I almost gave up on seeing it in cinemas, but thankfully I held out a few more days and it began to play near me, and I'm really glad I waited.

This movie definitely has that kind of lolrandom humour with frantic and maximalist pacing, and for a lot of films this falls flat and comes across as tryhard, but not here, the Daniels REALLY know what…
