A.K.A. Serial Killer 1975
Somehow pity ends up being the only emotion left after watching. Masao was also imprisoned for his association with a far-left terror group ’Japanese Red Army’. Leaves me questioning whether this film was simply supposed to be a set piece in his development of Landscape Theory, or a broader political statement over the realities of living in post-occupation Japan.

Morality porn - I’d expect this level of character depth from a middle school English essay
The Hollywood-ification of the psychotherapy and the dynamic between patient and provider is at best problematic. The therapy scene that permanently ‘heals’ Damon seemed so unrealistic that it ruined what little I enjoyed about this confused mess of a film. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a feel good movie, but anyone arguing for the literally merit of GWH is in my opinion misguided
