  Into the Heart of Darkness. One of the most desperate, filthy, hopeless road trip turned brutal revenge odysseys I've ever seen. The severed head of your buddy that was going to be coldly exchanged for money turns into the only form of a presence you can talk to, the pursuit for money turns into a pursuit for meaning, for anything. Sits firmly next to Sorcerer when it comes to elemental madness and cut-throat 70's nihilism. Rarely has a film ever lived up to its title. What a picture to ring in the new year.

Between the witty dialogue, the zestful assortment of supporting personality, the top-notch De Niro & Grodin dynamic/chemistry that is equal parts funny and poignant, this is my pick for personal favorite buddy cop movie.
