  Wow, this movie is just special. It has something mysthical you can't really describe.

  Even the story itself is a very new style, I've never experienced. First of all this strange setting with people living under conditions like in the 19th century and then all these weird events that follow, almost like wonders, but you don't really know.

  The exceptional mixture of realism and supernatural elements, especially in the second part, indeed reminds me of Pasolini.

  The cinematography has a very nostalgic style. It was pretty enjoyable to watch. Love it.

  An exceptional film. I've seen weird films, I've seen biographical films, but I've never seen such a weird biographical film.

  The mixture between crazy surrealistic dream scenes implemented in a simple train ride is not the best, but a very interesting way to approach the topic of Mahlers life. I also like how Russell utilizes Mahlers music for the movie, it fits very well. The sound design in general is marvellous. I loved the audio transitions between actual sounds Mahler…
