This movie was famously written on the fly and subject to studio editing while Corman was on another film shoot - Corman accused AIP of re-editing the film into a 77-minute mess; AIP said that the movie was unsalvageable - but, what remains is a gorgeous, Laugh-In inspired, angry-as-fuck scattershot attack on all American culture.
But, for all its centrism, at least this one recognizes that the key to centrism is not giving in to the right-wing football-loving assholes and moving right but getting them to move left as well.
