i mean so so incredible. the cinematography was so beautiful, i think the super 8 shots added so much depth and familiarity to the visuals, like you feel as though you’re watching the home videos of someone you know. all the performances were pitch perfect - fernanda torres obviously but also selton mello, and all the actors playing the children, so subtle yet deeply felt. mind-boggling that this is based on a true story, i need to read the book…

this was so delightful. script was so good, the dialogue felt so natural and real, and i was really impressed by the performances from pretty much the whole cast. great chemistry too. funny and beautifully shot and well-paced and heartwarming. i needed to watch this before my bday for a reminder about living in the present
