i think this was a really quite powerful in its criticism of capitalism, colonialism and just how disgusting they are. however, i do think the ending feels more like a return to the respectable liberal status quo, as a saviour to the maniacal conservatism and eventual fascism. when in reality we know liberalism is just as vile and putrid in how it develops the system of capitalism, and enables fascist takeover.
so i do leave this with mixed emotions but…
