This followup is definitely nowhere near as great nor groundbreaking as the original 1954 classic. But I also think this movie doesn't deserve the bad rap it gets.

An absolute hidden gem of the Heisei era. No idea why this has a lower average score than Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah because this easily trumps that movie in every respect.

Some fantastic monster action near the end clutches this from being a bad movie to at least an okay one. For me, this is one of the few Godzilla movies where the plot was just too ridiculous, even for a Godzilla movie! And also one of the few where I really disliked the human plot.
