Night 1 - The Thing (4k BluRay)
Still one of my all time favorites.
One small takeaway from watching in 4k on a big screen though... the matte painting of the ship in the ice looked like some guys standing in front of a matte painting. I don't recall it ever standing out that much in previous viewings.
It's pretty clear the majority of the low scores and bad reviews here are coming from people who have never had a family member or close friend taken by meth or heroin, or haven't battled it themselves and are completely missing the point.
The whole movie is an allegory for meth/heroin addiction. If you've been in that life or know people like these characters, it became clear what you were watching about 20 minutes in, and by the end you felt gut punched.
Very accurate portrayal of homelessness/addiction if viewed through their eyes.

Really loved the vibe of this one. Kept me feeling on edge most of the movie. The music did a great job of keeping things tense.

Loved the poster, but unfortunately the movie didn't live up to the promise...
There were a few tense moments, definitely felt my heart pounding during some scenes, but overall I felt it lacked enough substance to hold it all together .
