    Smart, witty, and endearingly British.

It’s a whodunit that’s unpredictable without being nonsensical. Blanchett and Fassbender give it gravitas and the supporting cast were appropriately colorful and quirky. Several lines had the Alamo in stitches, even as we approached the big reveal! Focused on the solve, not the stakes, which enhances its re-watchability.

One more Keyser Soze caliber twist may have made it a perfect five, but Soderbergh quit while he was ahead and I can’t fault him for that.

    Monogamy isn’t dead!

Had its comedic moments, namely the banter between Bill Murray and Pete Davidson and everyone roasting Jennifer Coolidge.

But never really got going, and couldn’t never decide on its tone.

On the plus side, got to see the Ballerina trailer.

I was distracted by imagining what the film could’ve been if Jesse and Kieran switched roles. I think Jesse could’ve pulled off being “cool” (a la Now You See Me) and Kieran playing a reserved, “put together” husband and father would’ve been a welcome contrast from Roman Roy. But the safe choice was made, and the result was still very good! Jesse has several scenes that hit like a gut punch, and Kieran has a one-of-one comedic delivery.

    It was funny,…
