  Finally took the time to view this great little drama. Powerhouse performances in a story that feels authentic in the details. A buoyant score keeps the gloom in check.

  Admittedly, there's no way this film could live up to the hype and my far-to-delayed viewing. Still, it serves the genre well and the cinematography alone is worth the price of admission.

  The merged time period production design would have worked fine for me if not for the bizarre clamshell e-reader, which just stinks out look a sore thumb.

  The overall threat is sustained throughout with very nice use of slow-burn camera movement and wideshot dread.

  Act 3 dithers and the ultimate showdown doesn't live up to the build that precedes it.
