While it rushes through some of the students storylines, this was a fun throwback. It’s a standard inspirational teacher movie, but with a Donnie Yen action movie flair. Not AMAZING, but a ton of fun.

Matthew Vaughn’s newest film is more miss than a hit, but I still found myself enjoying more of that I anticipated. The cast is great, the action is stellar and there are some legit beautifully shot sequences.

Prey is the kind of movie you’d hear as a fan pitch.
“OH! Wouldn’t it be rad if they made a Predator movie, but set it in the past and have the Predator fight a cool Comanche warrior? Like, do all the cool Predator stuff, but you get to see the cleverness and the resourcefulness of the lead in a time period without bombs and machine guns.
BUT, they will never do a movie like that.”
Well they DID.
And it’s as cool as you’d hope it would be.
