  When trying to design a universe where you have to cater to multiple audiences from multiple generations, there has to be a lot of respect given to not only the source material but the setting where everything occurs. Detective Pikachu excels where it is most important and makes Ryme City feel alive and influenced by decades of world building in a believable fashion. The story, I must admit is basic; however, was Pokemon ever meant to evoke genre-defining story lines?…
