With Every Heartbeat 2011
For its first hour or so, this is a pretty fantastic depiction of that electric feeling of suddenly and unexpectedly falling hard for someone you've just met. Subtract a star for its schmaltzy, cliched handling of the final act (including a head-scratcher of a closing scene that seems to undermine the film's own message to that point), but add one back for some uncommonly good sex scenes and all-around compelling romantic tension. Several negative reviews here suggest the leads lack chemistry, and if that's the case, I guess I don't understand what chemistry is supposed to look like.
