This is a historical film, you actually can’t tell me otherwise.
It’s been a while since I’ve watched a film that felt like I was cocooned in a blanket— it was so deeply warm and comforting, despite the film’s strange nature.
I loved the romantic notes carried throughout the movie, ranging from the beautiful shots of their quaint, mundane town to Fran’s decomposing body in the field. Not to mention the scoring, some of the most romantic scoring I’ve heard in a long time that just encapsulated all of the right…
A unique and angsty take on a New Years film, almost an anti-New Years tribute of sorts. It’s kitschy, and camp and ultimately the best remedy for anyone in their 20s fighting for their life and sanity from the pressures that New Years Eve consistently serves.
Didn’t dramatically alter my life, but not every film has to. It was fun and stylish; a film I can see myself making a habit of watching every New Years Eve.
Also had me CRAVING a cigarette or two by the end, damn.
