I actually think there’s the bones of a really tense thriller/tragedy here that could’ve been super interesting and actually explored identity and power in an interesting way, but instead they attempted to make the worlds most self serious movie in the worlds least serious medium.
It’s not what i would’ve done personally but hey what do i know
