okay so listen. I had a ton of work to do tonight which was sort of freaking me out so I wanted to have a studio era movie on in the background to calm me down (because nothing calms me down like a studio era movie). It worked. I wasn't really watching this (everyone relax, I've seen it a thousand times) but hearing the textural sounds of Jennifer Jones float around Minnelli's world with the occasional glance did the trick. I don't always log these but today I did. Aren't movies just a delight?
I did stop working and stare during the waltz, though.

Was a touch worried that I wouldn’t like it when it reached truly astronomical levels of popularity (I’ve been burned by Barbie and Wicked and others) but it brings me great pleasure to report that this is an incredible film and really a true pleasure
