  Woman of the Hour 2023

  What a directorial debut, Anna Kendrick. I loved the visuals, and she's one of the few actor-directors that utilises camera movement. While Daniel Zovatto was incredible, this film deserved a longer runtime and an even creepier performance to really flesh out how horrible this man was - granted, it's not Kendrick or Zovatto's fault, probably just Netflix's. Nevertheless, I was really blown away by this!

  We need to stop making films like television and plays... so much dialogue. Soderbergh needs to be humbled so badly, he is not fit to be a DP at this level. I guess it heats up toward the end, but everything else was so boring. Huge disappointment...

  Couldn't stop yawning. Such an interesting premise, but I found the plot to be so boring. Sound design was next level, but the film itself just wasn't for me.

  It's ugly, the exposition is on another level, and it's boring. Onah does not know what to do with the camera in crucial scenes. While hideous, it's probably the studio forcing that look so I won't blame the filmmakers. The story and script honestly speak for themselves... But its one redeemable attribute was its fight scenes. The most shocking part is how it underutilized its greatest assets in Ford and Esposito. Please, don't make a sequel.
