At first, I thought it would be too much to juggle, but it really paid off in the end. PTA's Scorsese/Altman influence is all over the first half, a style I adore, but I noticed him seep into his more mature 2000s style later on. Was the runtime necessary? Probably not. Did I understand it all? Nope. Nevertheless, I found myself enjoying the hell out of it. It's so gorgeous to look at, the performances are unreal, and the heart of the story is constantly there. You'll either love it or hate it, and there's honestly no wrong answer for this film.

I've seen it 5 times, but this rewatch made me realise it's Fincher's most refined. Every single component is working perfectly in cohesion. Sure, 'Se7en' is more of a fun watch, but I cannot find a single flaw in this film. I can't believe how underrated this is in his filmography, it's incredible!

Couldn't stop yawning. Such an interesting premise, but I found the plot to be so boring. Sound design was next level, but the film itself just wasn't for me.

It's ugly, the exposition is on another level, and it's boring. Onah does not know what to do with the camera in crucial scenes. While hideous, it's probably the studio forcing that look so I won't blame the filmmakers. The story and script honestly speak for themselves... But its one redeemable attribute was its fight scenes. The most shocking part is how it underutilized its greatest assets in Ford and Esposito. Please, don't make a sequel.
