My glorious kings Bong Joon-ho, Robert Pattinson, and Steven Yeun collaborating is something to behold fr. I read Mickey 7 last summer in preparation for this film and was surprised at how different this was! The general premise and characters are mostly the same, but the story is extremely different. Pattinson is fantastic and gives two great performances with some fun voice work. I could hear his Batman voice slip out a few times. It’s a strange and fun film that’s not gonna be for everyone, but is worth checking out for its premise alone.

Who would’ve thought mixing Scream and a rom-com together would make for a pretty fun slasher? Liked the way it played with all the classic tropes from both genres in a kind of self-aware way. The ending reveal and confrontation is a little lacklustre but not sure what it could’ve done differently. Shoutout to my noise boy goat Josh Ruben!

Its main goal is to introduce us to this world, its concepts, and the character within it, before the epic payoff in the next part. To some, this…

    A Quiet Place: Day One

Pretty disappointing watch. I had high hopes for this as a fan of the previous entries in the series. With a subtitle like “Day One” I was expecting to see a lot of things that we’ve been wondering about during day one of the invasion. Instead we get a retread of beats from the previous films. The plot and pacing was unfocused, and stakes felt extremely low. The upside was the two leads, who had great chemistry together. Their scene…
