  What if a movie was a puzzle, where if you watched it enough, thought about it enough, that everything could make sense and, with enough work, you’d have a whole picture. But what if some of the pieces are just circles, or are completely missing, or are actually just bits of cardboard from an Amazon box that got mixed in somehow… sure, you could still claim to know what the puzzle really is, but maybe you’re really just trying to piece together a pile of rubbish.

  Slow, deliberate, intimate, mesmerizing, honest, real.

  The thing that sets it apart for me - especially compared to other romance and relationship movies - is that the characters in Past Lives are all good people; they're emotionally mature, secure in who they are, and aren't looking to hurt each other. So what we are left with is an emotionally honest film, where everyone is easy to empathize with.

  A beautiful movie.
