I feel pretty neutral about this movie so this feels like the right rating. It was pretty and I enjoyed the cinematography. I just prefer my movies to have a bit more of a plot and a lesson. This movie definitely had some messages, but many were subtle and there didn’t seem to be any sort of overarching theme that the narrative was working towards. It just existed in its uniquely simple nature — beautiful, just not for me.

Heart-wrenching story. Didn’t realize there would be so much puking — not what I needed to see at the moment. Excellent acting which was what I expected. I wish there were a few more signals of the timing of certain scenes, you had to work pretty hard to figure it out, and sometimes Florence Pugh’s hair wasn’t enough for me to be certain. Still a solid movie though.

What an adventure. I was FAR too hype when William Da Foe’s character got pushed off the cliff. What a cinematic, beautiful, and chaotic story. Not a typical 5 for me, but I can’t think of anything that could have changed to make me enjoy it more.

I like the idea of inyeon. I felt bad for Arthur in the bar scene — can’t think of worse torture than watching your spouse passionately speak to their old lover in front of you and not be able to understand what they’re saying. In a different story I think Nora divorces her husband to be with Hae Sung, but this Nora values her existing life too much to explore that story. I hope she accomplishes what she’s sacrificed so much for.
