An example of throwing everything at the sink and hoping it'll stick....some of it does quite well and in general, it's the visual side of the story that sticks as well as the acting of the Hamill-Ridley-Driver trio. Rey's character conveys a sense of determination and badass-ery that I never found in previous Star Wars characters though there's still no one with the charisma of an Obi-Wan, Oscar Isaac has the potential but gets weak lines. Devastatingly boring considering that the premise is a woman going missing while on a vacation with friends. Instead of developing into the interesting study on human character in stressful situations or suspense of About Elly which uses a similar premise, the movie devolves into a slow-moving train at a monotone speed showing how dissatisfied it is with everything.
