    perfect sequel

wasn't expecting it to handle big topics like grief quite as well as it did - which was brilliantly

somehow, i got won over by Ejiofor, i don't know who else could have fit into firth's shoes much better to be honest... roxster can fuck off

but this film is about all the little details that so many sequels completely miss / mishandle nowadays. the writers and producers really got it bang on and DIDNT manage to ruin the franchise (quite the uncommon phrase nowadays...)

i loved depp and pacino's relationship here. it really is beautiful.

alongside a surprising appearance from paul giamatti, this film was great. top to bottom it was entertaining and the actual plot of the movie gave the characters plenty of room which i liked.

both depp and pacino work for hierarchical institutions that - at the end of the day - dont give a damn about them. so despite their opposing vocations, they are more alike than you realise.

what an unbelievable film. Tarantino's debut script in a major production i believe, finished beautifully by the late Tony Scott.

other than the strange theme tune (im sure it was strangely upbeat for a reason, Hans Zimmer) i cannot fault this movie. the casting is something else, for me i like how they downplay the larger stars to smaller roles and therefore giving Slater and Arquette their chance to truly shine, which they certainly did.

    the Hopper v Walken scene…
