Princess Mononoke 1997
First Ghibli film, seeing the 4k IMAX rerelease,
Having a difficult time giving this a rating, I genuinely feel like I’m not seeing something everyone else is. It wasn’t funny, the themes were too shallow, the writing and dialogue is mind numbing, but I mean it’s pretty and has some decent action moments. Maybe I’ll revisit it, but for now it’s as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle.

Just perfect, so many things I could go in detail on like how the characters with ulterior motives are handled way better than other children’s films do it, or how the themes of family and belonging are done in a way thats not practical but its heartwarming to the ends. But honestly, it just makes me feel great, I need more instantly!!
And yes I cried, they always know how to tug at your heartstrings with those endings

I’ll never see magic underwear the same…
Hugh grant has some great dialogue lol, very strange pacing for a thriller but I liked it. Do wish more happened, but there were some fun twists and turns.
Sophie Thatcher is incredible, knew I recognized her from something, it was Companion!
Chloe East unfortunately doesn’t get too much time to shine till towards the end but she still nails it!
EDIT: I know some people might come away from it upset at the themes, so just so you know: It’s about government not religion.
