You know i love my scifi. and satire that’s a bit ham fisted? all about that too. very endearing character (the titular mickey 17), you feel for him immediately want him to succeed. adored the dumb voice pattinson does for him, and all the differences between 17 and 18. steven yeun plays an absolute prick very believably. only half a star taken off because i wasn’t particularly dazzled by the score or cinematography, which are very loadbearing for me (and what i expected out of this director also). i’m gonna rewatch the shit out of this.

Every frame in this film is absolutely stunning, especially in it’s grotesqueries. everything is heightened to its maximum; sue’s perky, pretty, shiny life juxtaposed against elizabeth’s sagging, dulled life. bodies being either elastic stretched tight or practically melting off the bones.
i loved how elizabeth’s color was a deep mature royal blue, a color she probably found over time vs. sue’s youthful and almost immature fun bubblegum pink.i know the title of the film alludes to…
