Had low expectations of this film. I was worried going into this film that I was watching a film that was going to glorify the wealth of a Russian oligarch and just Be a slightly unconventional romcom. I’m glad to say it wasn’t that at all. Instead we got a film about wealth and power and how everyone else is subject to their whims and desires.

A Real Pain 2024
Had an argument with the person who I watched this with who thought it was mediocre and it only received good reviews because of the sensitive subject matter - that being the holocaust. I was going into this film expecting that to be the main focus of the film but what I got instead was a touching film about family, addiction, envy and divergent life paths and I loved it. 100 percent deserved the praise it received. Felt very low budget as well and it’s nice for a film like that to get a lot of attention today.
