I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Dawn probably should have won Best Visual Effects over Interstellar. Nolan’s practical effects will always be favored over CGI, but I find the level of detail and realism attained here to be more impressive. The opening closeup of Caesar literally gave me chills. Oh don’t mind me, just stopping by on my way to see the new Batman movie…
Very impressed with a film that I thought would be a flyover watch to get to the Matt Reeves sequels. James Franco and CGI apes is not the combo I predicted to have me tearing up on my couch while sipping a non-alcoholic IPA, but here we are.
The fact that the next two are supposedly even better has me pumped.
