    Upon seeing the film I was struck by the excessive amount of breadcrumbs that Aster puts out from the beginning. A feeling which was only strengthened by the final scene that appears to tie all the threads together. Whilst it appears as a sort of easter egg hunt throughout the movie, it in fact bolsters the tragic aspect of the Graham family. Like the scene in which Peter is taught about Sophocles in class the audience knows ,from the get go, that nothing will turn out alright. A truly tragic reflection upon the afflictions that run through families.

    I thought it could not be done. The film adaptation of one of my all time favourite novels "The Passion according to G.H." by Clarice Lispector. Nevertheless, the director succeeded. But not without the constant push and pull, which also defines the novel.

    A beautiful meditation on religious experience, reminiscing of the work of Georges Bataille, cockroaches and paranoiac gregorian chants to tie it all together. It is long and winding ride, but god it's worth it
